Post it again. And no, we won't be "seeing it" cited at any serious political debate.

Oh wow. The "official" student newspaper of Liberty University.

So here we get to the meat of it:

According to the bill, it only applies to consensual sex (whether it be vaginal, oral or anal) between a minor 14 years or older. But at 14 years of age, a minor is still just that – a minor. Most laws recognize individuals younger than 18 as minors, which is the case with U.S. law, and yet, most scientists are agreeing that individuals don’t really reach full maturity until the age of 25.

Obviously the bill is about teenagers who have oral or anal sex. As to the latter, I'll bet some of the Liberty U students have experience of that: the girls whose parents saw to it they didn't get contraception. Hey, whatever works!

Why then, does the government believe a 14-year-old girl or boy is mature enough to consent to sex with someone who is up to 10 years older than they are?

I don't think 14 year olds should have sex or, worse yet, have children. But let's not forget that for most of the history of civilization, royals and nobles did marry very young, if they were girls. Why? So everyone could be sure they were virgins. That was important, because in those circles it mattered who the father of their children was.

And hey, 13-year-old cousins were good enough for Jerry Lee Lewis. Great balls o' fire!!

I very much doubt Jerry is a Democrat.

Liberty University? LOLOLOL. Small story, I had a young apprentice that worked with us. 25 years old and an awesome worker. I did stuff for the gubbermint back then so we all needed background checks.

It turned out that the kid had sex with a seventeen year old girl when he was nineteen and her parents were so pissed that they decided to ruin his life by prosecuting him for statutory rape and eventually placing him on the registered sex offenders list for life. It was his girlfriend.

Poor kid couldn't even set foot on the base we were working on. It didn't ruin his life completely but the bullshit laws fucked him forever and I sense that is what they are trying to change.
