I just love his obscure-reference analogies. He's got a brain like a bear trap. It's one thing to know all those facts, and it's another to connect them in creative ways.

I read this and agreed, then I remembered that those run-ons of his used to be funny. Years ago (Time for me to date myself.) I remember the first couple of years that he had his own show, I thought he was brilliant. Now, when I catch a moment or two I'm almost embarrassed for him. He's definitely a man who has a flair for satire - but, like so many success stories, he became a caricature of his own persona and lost his edge. Everyone loved his little sardonic expressions so he just started making them for no good reason (think: Calista Flockhart). Now it's stupid. Oh well.
