Sirius: I think the military appraisal of the Strat-2 may have been the death knell of the Lockheed airship project. The 'higher-ups' in government probably read the handwriting on the wall, so to speak, and decided to pull the plug on the Lockheed project just before GTEM embarasses the hell out of them. If the US taxpayers found out how much tax free money was being diverted into Lockheed FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, there would be a tax revolt of the first magnitude. I'm sure that the government is a believer in the axiom of 'time heals all wounds' and feels comfortable that, in time, all will be forgotten.

siriusly: My take is that if LM with all their money and expertise can't build this thing, what in the world would make us think that our little company could pull it off. This just doesn't make sense to me.
It's been almost two years since the fiasco at San Bernadino and still no airship in the air. ( I don't think a 100ft teathered float counts).
Just leads me to believe this whole thing just may not be possible or at least feasable at the present time. Hope I'm wrong, but....
