Zab, in most peoples mind Putin doesn't want a Nuclear war,,,he just uses the fear of it...Successfully I might add..

By not stopping Putin we leave the door open to alliances that will change the world...

We Did use nukes rather than Invade Japan...Wether it was right or wrong I don't know....I am glad that the US was first obtain the capability rather than Russia or Germany...

Wars are hard to stop,,,but we built our military to overwhelm Russia...

Any sane person is scared of WWIII... What are the realistic odds of it,,,What are the consequences of being blackmailed by it...

So if we are afraid to provoke Putin and let him have his way,,,Who else will we be afraid to provoke tomorrow...

The sad truth, Dictators will either be afraid of Us or we will be afraid of them and they will do as they please...

If not strong in conviction we are weak, predators prey on weakness..Thats how the world works wether we like it or not...

Biden has wisely exhausted peaceful means..Putin is not deterred...

This whole thing is strange. For one, I'm not a war monger, politician or ambassador or strategist scientist. I'm just a guy sitting back here in my state safe from bombs for now. Anyone on this thread is probably an armchair general and all we can do from a zillion miles away is give a donation and hope it actually gets to ukraine and not stolen along the way.

But what 'if' we fly in USA jets and nato jets and take out the entirety of the russian forces all the way back to the russian borders. What next? pukein calls war against nato and USA? What the hell has he been waging in Ukraine. Looks like a full fledged war against an innocent country to me.

I don't know why Ukraine wasn't in nato 5 or ten years ago already. Why not?

We're playing chess with nukes. Are we? Madman or not, would pukein really end his life as well as millions of russians for his ego?
Or would he be removed, or even better assassinated or droned out by nato or us?

All these professional brains in all these countries involved must know far far more than the average citizen and know things we don't and why what seems simple to us is bombing pukein himself directly couldn't be done.

And back to nukes. Do we have the capacity to knock out russian nukes in real time still? Or ever? And could another country like N.korea join in with russia to help destroy USA? These are questions regular people do not have the answers for.

And politically, you have a country not aligned with any other country of power demanding the whole world protect them. As cold as it is, does any other country have the responsibility to protect them or are the other countries just going along because of ideals. Would madman pukein had invaded Ukriane or any other boarder country if they were NATO or signed with USA?

A bigger question to me is, why wasn't ukraine already made a part of nato if they were supposedly a democratic country on the border of such a dictatorship country. Could it be because Zelenskyy is the one to push a democratic administration and the guy he won it from was more aligned with pukein.

I don't know, I'm just a retired guy in the midwest waiting for the snow to melt and hoping not to see a giant ball of flame on the horizon.
