From all the texans I've known and met (excluding hook and DD) including when my Father lived down there for years and he said the same thing that most texas males respect woman as far as they can throw them on the bed. They like women, just don't let them make any decisions about the cattle or my horses.
Maybe it's that way all over the country by degrees, but down there it's all show and lip service until inside their homes.
