You're right. No way i would be party to anyone going after the owner of the house. Initially i assumed the council's handling of it would possible involve some compensation via a government compensation scheme for victims of crime .. https://www.victimsservices.justice.nsw.gov.au/ . Haven't yet looked into it. Since i have the impression compensation may not flow naturally from the council's handling of it i've decided to see someone from free legal aid. Not going to incur any legal costs.
Only if there is any fair and legit claim from the slack asses who didn't control the dog am i interested. No big deal. Not chasing money at all.
