Hankmanhub, alternatively what could have happened was that patients that seemingly progressed were after an appropriate interval were scanned again and it was noted that an unusual large number of follow up scans showed instead of deterioration, an improvement.

Since this was something that was unexpected and rarely seen after treatment with SOC, it was after some period of time attributed correctly to a DCVax-induced pseudo-progression. The fake progressions were really immunologically induced inflammatory processes that after initiation of DCVax-L treatment, were destroying the tumor.

I am guessing that the DCVax-L pseudo-progression can be distinguished from radiation pseudo-progression because the radiation effect would occur earlier, before the initiation of DCVax-l treatment or before DCVax-L treatment has an impact.
