That race was a big deal in the 60's and 70's. Quite an accomplishment. My cattle experience in New Mexico was on the western slope of the Monzano mountains. It took several sections of land for only a few head. My Angus operation was in Missouri where we could run 75-100 head on 400-500 acres. Quite a difference!
