Roadkill, it’s been frustrating to see these types of problems continue for so long. I’m sure AMRN is equally frustrated. The confusion, barriers and problems it creates with scripts and generic switching is all a result of having dual indications and a generic available. Is there an easy solution? The high trig indication covers both brand and generic. The CVD indication only covers Vascepa. How should they describe it and cover both indications? The same thing for formularies. None of them list Vascepa for the CVD indication as far as I know. They all list V and GV as a lipid lowering drugs. The good news is that regardless of indication, Vascepa is cheaper for for either indication via Amazon Pharmacy for prime members.
