In other words there has to be some notion of armistice (perhaps based on love of country or something determined to be mutual) that transcends the usual "tools" of discourse. As Bull would say an appeal to the better angels what ever they or that may be. Don't know but something needs retooling.

Im the one that pulled the fire alarm some 2 years ago,,,its all come to pass, except the 50m Trump voters with guns which is now 70 m but that too waits in the wings...
And for bringing a message, I have more wounds and scars than I care to count......Voices of reason are trampled by your "ape like emotions" on either side......
What will bring them together, Im at the point of saying nothing will, and also remember that when unity has/does rise up, powers that be, stomp it.......George Floyd and Covid (edit add the ifrastrusture bill) are great examples...
We want critical thinkers to find solutions, they have only chosen sides and waste their ability and education....
