We saw samples of Intel’s future chips during Intel’s innovation days. Shrinkage, putting more transistors on a chip, or 2D or 3D adds design complexity and requires a very sophisticated and expensive manufacturing facility. Moreover it will not reduce energy consumption or CO2 emissions. Intel will need its own power plant which of course can use modern “ green” electricity. Intel adds complexity, Lightwave is adding simplicity and low power consumption to Intel’s competition. .
