#200237 RE: e-ore #200235

They need to do both, if not than I suggest a rebuild because this team isn't good enough without a number of additions. And I do mean a number of additions, and I'm not talking Robinson Cano either.

As for Rich Hill, he is not bad but I think we need much better, I also think we need numerous offensive players.

Lets Face it this team wasn't good enough to begin with. And we Have already lost syndergaard. Stroman is a FA, Conforto is most likely gone and a free agent. Loup one of our better relievers is also a free agent. So just to get back to being say a 500 team, I realize they were not .500 last year but that was because of Rojas. We need massive additions to just to get us back to last year before we make us a contender.

Think about out OF for a second we really only have 1 legitimate of on the roster. I mean you can force dom there and he won't destroy you. but he is a 1b by trade.

Now I will say this you are probably gonna have a DH in the NL this year. I don't want to see cano, but if he must be on this roster that is the only place for him to get some playing time, and a left hander hitter off the bench.

C Mccann- We are stuck with him. Although he is not bad defensively.
1b Alonso- Our best position player. Enough said
2b Mcneil/FA- He should either be here or 3b, his arm cannot play in the OF in my opinion.
SS-Lindor I expect him to bounce back, but he won't be worth his contract.
3b-Mcneil/FA
LF-FA/Smith
CF Nimmo
RF FA
DH Smith/Cano/Davis

We need two starting pitchers, and multiple bullpen guys. I know I sound like I'm irrational for my expectations, but if you want to compete that is what you need. It is really that simple in my opinion.

In My Ideal world

1) We hire a manager with some experiance.

2) We fix the starting Rotation With two of Ray, Gausman, and Scherzer. I'm willing to take one of those, and a pinedia or Gray and I will be satisfied.

3) Ideally we would fill three positions either a 2b/3b, and two of. I will settle for giving Smith the LF job. And two big bats added to the lineup. I've actually warmed on Baez if the money isn't absurd. Not to say he would be my first choice. But his defense at 2b is phenominal and if it makes lindor comfortable I might want to do that, because at this point we are stuck with him the next 10 years so might as well get the most out of him. Bryant defensive metrics have recently gotten bad I have to admit, but I still like his bat.

If you want to clear up the DH spot than perhaps a Castellanos makes alot of sense, because he can flat out hit, but I want no part of his defense in the OF I must admit.

Marte is interesting, and a really good player, but I wouldn't overpay for him either.

Semien is another interesting player, who played 2b well last year, but has been a SS before that.

There is also the very interesting seiya suzuki, who will be posted he had incredible number in japan this year and will just be 27 this year, so he is definetly an option if the mets were really smart and went for 3 player with him being the 3rd guy.

So essentially we need 1 of Baez/semian or bryant, and we need 1 of Castellanos (His defense scares me), Bryant, or marte or suzuki.

And we need to fix the bullpen, we need to resign loup. and we need two more bullpen arms. A nice signing would be Iglesias he is the best reliever on the market. Him, Colome and Loup would be perfect. Heck I would even like the idea of Rich Hill being signed for the bullpen he has worked there in the past and would make a great long man for this team. Something I think baseball doesn't focus in enough that can go a long way yto not blowing out your bullpen the day the starter doesn't make it out of the 3rd inning or worse.

Will the mets do all of that, My guess is know of course payroll would be approaching 300 million to do that, but that to mismanagement of the current and past regimes we are in this situation. Will they do it? My guess is know. Don't get me wrong they will spend a decent amount this offseason, leave you longing for more put together a 82 win roster and spent close to 250 million to do it. I hope I'm wrong but I never been more negative on the mets than I am right now in my opinion.
