Having watched all of the movies that were made, and being brought up on watching Disney's Davy Crockett in the 1950s, I then studied and read many books throughout college and after.
Like I have told to my wife's family who live in Texas, why do you want to Remember the Alamo ? You were slaughtered in that battle, it was a battle that you can debate, but it did nothing to enhance your cause, except maybe allow you to make up the grandest stories of all time.
Now the Battle of San Jacinto was another story, Texas truly won that battle, and its' independence from Mexico. But for some reason if you are from Texas you want to go around saying Remember the Alamo.
That is a quick response, off the top of my head.
Some days, the way life has gone in America, I get tired of even talking about Texas. It seems they want to live in another world.
