Google says there are about three million--one for every hundred people in the United States,

I should have clarified that’s the amount I’ve found in hyper scale data centers, of which there are around 600 globally and half are operated by Amazon, Google, or Microsoft.

The number of small to mid size data centers in the US alone is in the millions as Mr. Gemstone mentioned.

Not sure how many transceivers are found in the non hyper scale centers.
