Nice find. Inflight credit card processing a big plus for IPTK. Also mentioned in this article a few months ago. And this website is about payments and is not airline related. Good to see notice outside the airline industry

Prepaid vs credit cards are the norm there. Prepaid cards are not accepted in flight. Now they most likely will be. $$$$$$$$$

"The low-cost airline Wizz Air has been plagued by a problem in the area of ??onboard sales for a long time: Credit cards are not particularly widespread in Eastern Europe, but debit and prepaid cards from the Visa and Mastercard brands are. It is made no secret of the fact that prepaid cards from fintechs are not accepted.

"That could change in the future, as Wizz Air intends to introduce WLAN services on board the Airbus fleet. This is primarily intended to be used for processing payment transactions. Then you will also be able to authorize debit and prepaid cards online, which could lead to more sales in Eastern and Southeastern Europe"

And it's not just attracted attention in the airline industry, but in the finance industry now as well. Major development, imo.

"Wizz Air has partnered with connectivity specialist AS-IP Tech (ASIP) to bring ‘WiFi lite’ to its passengers. In March 2021, inflight connectivity specialist AS-IP Tech (ASIP) installed the first Bluetooth connectivity kit on a commercial aircraft. The kit, consisting of a dual window antenna, is set to provide basic WiFi connectivity for passengers onboard for things like messaging and contactless payments."
