Anavex is pursuing a completely new paradigm which will put much of the existing AD approaches in the round file. There are a lot of careers and egos that will be put in a negative light if 2-73 is even a moderately successful approach to treating AD.
That creates a lot of resistance to very different ways of thinking and treating AD. That applies to BP, the FDA, and research grant community.
Anavex HAS TO HAVE very solid and convincing data to break through the existing paradigm wall.
The good news is that there are cracks in the wall. Biogen can be thanked for creating some new ones.
