Advent is a contract manufacturer. Why would NWBO want to sell them the equipment? Prime Contractor vs. sub contractor is a common style of working around the globe and so many want to make this untoward. Do you honestly think after LP’s Cognate issues she’d go through that again? And even then it wasn’t untoward; she divested herself because of the outcry, not because there was something actually wrong with it.
NWBO owns the equipment, yes. I worked as a subcontractor in shipyards. I had no desire to own the dry docks, the cranes, the machinery, pay the electricity, manage a bunch of other workers, etc. The shipyard didn’t want to manage work flow of 25 subcontractors. Duh. This is so simple.
I have a very good friend who did exactly with NWBO is doing. He was an executive with a very large Pharma in Europe. He and another executive went on their own, developed drugs for rare diseases based on research done by scientists all over the world. They owned the IP and the processes and used contract manufacturers to make the drugs. He sold it after 5 years for hundreds of millions. Your perceptions are not consistent with standard work that’s being done around the world every day.
