I was particularly struck by how few individuals could so strongly influence policies which govern affect millions of lives.
A long time friend dropped by tonight unexpected and a year since last
We had a similar conversation (in light of federal election day today here)
What good does voting do if nothing changes substantively?
How is change going to happen in the real politik?
How can one think this is a democracy when the power elite controls everything?.
As you can imagine, I was able to set him straight ;).
First off I told him I'm likely more pessimistic than urself.
Yet, I don't throw up my hands, I bleve democracy isn't just voting every four years it's talking to
Every one in ur orbit and movin' ur ass.
And, if you turn on the news - we see this "talk" is becoming mainstream
(No, not the useful brainwashed idiots that bought the corporate speak magas)
People across the board are genuinely concerned about climate crisis
Why the cost of living is unmanageable
Why what were basic living needs are out of reach
And, CLEARLY now - where those once plentiful resources
Weather it be fish, affordable homes, clean drinking water, etc,..
Are being situated. Big shocker, yup - to the 1%er super rich.
Encouraged by the topics on the campaign trail
Climate Crisis, why the rich don't pay their share, etc,.
We see at least all the parties giving lip service
(Like we see Biden has put forward an enhanced tax system).
That's very good.
Oh yeah, I think ur about as attuned to the pulse of the issues as they come
And I don't pretend to know a fraction of what you have covered
(Just a simple and humble big picture multiple year planner ;)
