That's ONE possibility. The other is that there are no clinical trials for safety, and especially efficacy, for the 'natural products'. (I don't use the words pejoratively, there are supplements that I take in conjunction with my statin.)

Is it possible that no maker of natural supplements can afford to do a clinical trial? Doubtful. More likely they know that they're good on safety and not so much on the kind of efficacy needed to make claims and market for actual indications.

Hence the '*These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease' that appears on their container labels.
