That's ONE possibility. The other is that there are no clinical trials for safety, and especially efficacy, for the 'natural products'. (I don't use the words pejoratively, there are supplements that I take in conjunction with my statin.)

Is it possible that no maker of natural supplements can afford to do a clinical trial? Doubtful. More likely they know that they're good on safety and not so much on the kind of efficacy needed to make claims and market for actual indications.
