I think that you present a false choice. Alternative energy production will increase partly because fossil fuel companies are invested in making it happen.

What do thy know that you don't, aside from science I mean?

It would be helpful if you actually knew WTF you were talking about.

The Keystone pipeline was being built to ship Canadian tar sand oil to Texas to be refined and sold overseas. That crap was never going to be used here unless you'd like to pay $5 a gallon for gas and ruin your engine at the same time.

But there is more. The pipeline endangered one of the largest aquifers in the midwest.
