Perhaps there is no need to panic and take an interim peek.
No one is "panicking", just pointing out that the market doesn't take us seriously re alz because all our data is 5 years old. This creates an undervaluation problem which has real effects on the ability to raise cash, limit dilution and protect from a lowball offer takeover.
Whatever happens to SAVA, lack of recent data won't change the situation for AVXL.
If they go down in flames, we will be in their vapor trial. It might even increase the skepticism with which AVXL alz pronouncements are treated. I could see the following as the Street's reaction: "yeah, another scam like SAVA, AVXL haven't put out any alz data for 5 years"
Interim peek is a good idea independent of SAVA, as long as you believe we have the goods. If Dr. M has access to the OLE data, he knows the answer. In which case, a lack of boldness is especially unnerving.
Good interim data and we could be at $150+ by Christmas.
