A lack of Equipoise may be a reason to stop randomizing patients into a clinical trial.
Treatment patients eventing according to the criteria in the protocol may also be a reason to place a halt on a clinical trial... until it can be understood that the criteria is the problem, and that what appears to be progression actually mean the opposite and indicates that the treatment is working. With that understanding, you'd actually remove a halt. I mean, why remove the halt if you'd put it in place to ensure that no more placebo patients would be enrolled?
Also, NWBO management insists, strongly, that the trial was not halted to enroll just treatment patients. So there's that.
