Subject: Marijuana Breathalyzer

Thank you for your email to the Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance.

A Marijuana Breathalyzer cannot be used for DOT-regulated drug testing. All drug testing under the DOT regulations must be conducted at an HHS-certified laboratory. Therefore, we cannot grant any permissions for a drug-testing device, such as the one you described.

Hounds lab is only testing for THC. When THC is detected it’s an inactive drug. Finding THC in ones body is legal if you live in the right states. For states that have any legalized marijuana laws their product is useless for law enforcement . To say Hounds Lab is ahead of Cannabix is nuts. They’re testing for two different things. As far as the workplace is concerned your employer has every right to test their employees for marijuana use, unless you have a personal or Union contract. Right to Work. Every state requires marijuana/THC testing for a CDL. Even Amazon employees. Your post are inaccurate and misleading.
