Excellent document for the technically inclined or curious. Great discussion and summary on modulator material types, design types ( MS/Ring), current performance trends, energy efficiency, reliability as well as future outlook. Provides data for many of the topics discussed on this board. EO Polymers fare well (the race is on...). I believe this document was posted earlier but can't recall who to give credits to.
FRUNO: See Page 13: "Polymers with r33 exceeding 300 pm=V are available, and theoretical values of chromophore hyperpolarizability predict r33 values even above 1000 pmV"
I don't think I have seen R33 numbers posted by LWLG that high either, but it seems LWLG is in good shape compared to academic theoretical state of art with a patent already granted discussing up to 750 PMV.
