Fictitious officers are pretty funny. It takes real nerve just to make up a CEO. And what was almost certainly CRGP's predecessor company took it a step further: they invented a pair of officers that they then claimed were murdered by the mob in Mexico. And they actually expected people to believe that.
They got more press coverage than they'd expected. The Dallas Morning News did a big story, and ABC sent reporters and camera crews. More hilarity ensued when it was discovered that company headquarters were on the fourth floor of a three-storey building.
Pennyland is full of similar stories, and full of extravagant characters. As I said, it's entertaining, and, in the long run, instructive.
