No. 1 Oklahoma takes Game 1 over No. 16 Washington, putting the Sooners one win away from the Women's College World Series. OU's Nicole May threw a complete game on five strikeouts, allowing seven hits on two runs. It was her first start since April 18.
The Huskies seemed to wake up in the seventh inning when Kelley Lynch launched a solo home run with one out. Two more Huskies got on base, intensifying the threat, but a double play that ended at home clinched the Oklahoma victory.
