Humankind has struggled with diseases ever since -- it is probably difficult to estimate for how long. It wasn't until the early Renaissance that the first discoveries about how to successfully treat common diseases first took place. The pace of discovery that lead to modern medicine in the early 20th Century has continued unabated.

The discovery of the CRISPR technology by Jennifer Doudna and her colleague Emmanuel Charpentier that won her the Nobel in 2020 will eventually drive the anti vaxxer sociopaths climbing up the Wall of Denial for the rest of their days.

I actually viewed Jennifer Doudna's online Nobel lecture.

It has everything to do with mRNA.
