I have had the discussion elsewhere and the only thing I get back is I hate puppy dogs.

Sad but true. His little gambit only lasts until the next election, though, and if it wasn't Manchin it would be our cutesy senator from Arizona who thinks she is just all that.

So this is what the Boomers choose to leave us? "Here ya go kids, grandkids. The best we can be bothered to do for you is to leave you a dysfunctional political system, vast amounts of government & personal debt, a crumbling infrastructure, a bloated military, a diminished world standing, and just to show you what truly selfish s**tstains we are - Donald Trump, because...why leave you functioning democracy or social progress?"

"And hey, sorry about all those closed mental health facilities in the 80's & 90's...because, why spend money on that boring stuff when we could spend it on ourselves? Sorry about all those released mentally ill X'ers (our children, I guess) who became homeless, then criminals, then part of the lifelong prison population. It sucks, I guess. Thank God for shopping!

"And that student loan thing. Ya, our parents kept college REALLY affordable for us, thank God! We could pretty much just walk out of college, get a job, and get a house. Now some people have a house worth of college debt" (this writer has $250k) "because even though our parents paid for our college & kept college affordable for us, we just couldn't pull that together. Oh well. You understand."

"But no matter how bad we Boomers left it for the rest of you, you little s**tstains better keep us living in the lap of luxury with the best possible care no matter what the cost to the planet or your children or yourselves. We are entitled to it."

Yep, it sure seems that someone is pulling his strings. Now he's against things that he was clearly for a few years ago. He certainly is destroying any chance the democrats can keep the majority. Osoff and Warnock both won their Georgia seats by promising certain things that are doomed to fail because of Manchin's obstinance. He'll be 77 when he's up for reelection in 2024. All you can say about him is that he sure seems to take his marching orders from McConnell. I have no idea how he can live with himself.
