I have seen it in very old, 100 year family owned companies where the business itself is very basic, though lucrative, and the family is very wealthy, from that business. Like agriculture related companies.

Well, I've seen and executed it many times for amounts much larger than 11mln USD.

But I made my point. Everybody is free to make up their minds about it.

And just to avoid confusion, I did not say that they actually did give a personal guarantee, I said it could be a way of securing such a loan.
