Yes, the source as determined by google is not that important often times.
Although, I was a bit familiar with Esalen from daze of yore and girls of higher (levels of ?) consciousness.
I've gone a bit wild these past 6 months and continue to just cut wood (.. last blast before retirement thing although the gov't is cutting my first cheque as we speak!.. ;).

Remember reading Builders of the Dawn bout' intentional communities and the thing that stuck was the successful ones (like Esalen, Findhorn, etc,..) had a charismatic leader who could keep the vision and group together. The extreme democratic ones died in committee. 
I do have feelings for that counter culture. I was too young and discovered it and the music ten years after.
