So what is the incentive for reps to push V over gV?

Not saying in all cases but certainly in some (many), if doctors know the difference between the two, they could sway the pharmacy in filing with V over gV.

The best way to handle this is to write in the notes to pharmacy section
-that generic substitution for REDUCE IT indications is direct patent infringe and prosecutable by law for financial damages

if every doc starts doing this they mught take notice
