Norfolk .. There have been several similar "defining moments" on this board in the past that have put this "whole crazy IDCC thing" in its proper perspective and what has just happened to your Dad should be a real wake-up call for all of us in that regard. Hopefully, it will be the last one any of us will ever need. I have never met your Dad, but as a result of many e-mails, PMs and phone calls I feel like we have been close friends for a long time. I'm sure the prayers of everyone on this board will be with him and his family and that has worked wonders in the past. Please let me know when he has recovered sufficiently to take phone calls.

Regards,
Danny

Norfolk: sorry to hear about your Dad

He will probably need one or more coronary stents or a bypass. If the stents are used, the new DES coated stents are superior to the older non coated stents because they have a much lower restenosis rate. Their price is, however, 2 or 3 times more to the hospital than the non coated stents. The FDA approved stent is the CYPHER made by J and J. It might be worth asking your Dad's doctor's about this. I don't mean to be intrusive but I thought I would pass this along.

Re.Recovery....To Jimlur and Family
Well, I can't say I'm surprised that you responded well to treatment. It is clear that your heart must be strong as you have always managed to gracefully recover from any obstacle presented to you on the IDCC board. Certainly it must be Gods will that you will over come this obstacle as you have served so many with a pure heart.
There are but a few people that I know that have served so many, so selflessly, without any thought of return. I am certain I speak for many of the silent lurkers as well as those that have already posted who follow your wisdom, connect to your calm, and value your thoughts. We are with you. It is my belief, my hope, and my prayer that God will continue to set his healing hand on you.
As your son so aptly said.."These are one of those defining moments...when this whole crazy IDCC things seems so unimportant in ones life." I have always appreciated the fact that moments come and go. Highs and lows in a stock, Highs and lows in life. The key is appreciating each moment, understanding its significance, and embracing the moment to come.
As you have so successfully embraced past moments I feel certain that God will grace you with many moments to come. Moments to share with your wife, your children, your extended family, your close friends and ofcourse your IDCC friends.
The Houston party is still on. ..........
Best to you and your family. Alley
