Zman, UHC does not care about health benefits to patients...they want to cut their costs NOW! On the GoodRX website they have the lowest price for generic lovaza at $25.40 whereas the lowest price for generic Vascepa is $94.78 that is around a 65% savings. I don't think UHC offers generic Vascepa anyway. It's all about the money they can save today... the patient's health be damned! My theory has always been that BP have more gravitas to place them in a better position to deal with insurance companies. Obviously, they view Amarin as a weak, powerless company. This explains why generic lovaza has held up so well over the years. Then add to this the fact that many doctors and patients believe it is all fish oil anyway.
