No, the border issue is 1) years of abuse at the border has led to this insane rush of children; 2) the previous administration destroyed the bureaucracy that would have handled this and instead just sent people back into Mexico. It all has to be rebuilt, and it will be, but given all the other destruction to the federal government that they wreacked, there is a lot to do. These children at the border will be properly cared for and placed with their own families or with a proper system of care, with surrogate families. But realize as well, there is also a pandemic. So in addition to the previous 4 years of destruction, and disassembly, they also need to find host families in the context of the pandemic, and then also most likely these kids families are also hiding after four years of almost gestapo like tactics, rounding people up, witnesses even in trafficking cases from courthouses, making people flee courthouses where they were set to testify against criminals or busses, because they were here illegally... there was a lot of harm done in 4 years and we are still dealing with it. But many people, once it is over, they easily forget what happened because none of it applied to them.
