Anavex Now - good slogan but I have heard it since 2016 with no success

You have to wonder with all of these AE's in Phase 1, why Lilly went to Phase 2?

The answer to that is pretty easy.
There are no other solutions out there. There are potential solutions, think ANAVEX. But Anavex is just now running a large scale placebo controlled trial. Assuming Lilly knows about 2-73 I'd guess they are hoping to get to market before 2-73. After all they are acutely aware that 99% of all AD trials fail and I bet they are applying those odds to their thinking about Anavex. And even if 2-73 P2/3 trial comes out good, Lilly is hoping to get in front of the FDA before Anavex. The FDA can only consider what is filed with it.

Remember that the bar is so low for AD that it is "in the grass".

So, the Lilly idea is to save the AD sufferers from a lingering Alzheimer's death, taking its drug will make death happen sooner. Nice world that the Lilly people want to live in!

Good observation/projection. Lilly also seemingly assume that what they measured (real time) is the limit to their AE'S and there are no additional unknown AE'S on a different horizon exist. AVXL goal of restore and regen (how measured?) is by far the most amazing claim ever undertaken by any CNS pharma. AVXL claims to understand our MOA and can project future developments accurately.
