The difference between Advent and Cognate is that NWBO has the 40 year lease on the building, and owns all the equipment inside (Advent has been paid to fit and kit Sawston out); whereas Cognate owned the building and all equipment inside the building. Advent brings to the table the specialized manpower to manufacture DCVax-L, as does Cognate, now CRL. So should NWBO buy Advent, they would be buying their specialized manpower. It would make sense because otherwise it develops into another odd or uncomfortable arrangement between LP and NWBO that will eventually give rise to concerns unless more detailed explanations are forthcoming. This current arrangement between NWBO and Advent may be a way to facilitate the specials program in the UK for the time being until marketing approval. These are just thoughts to partially address your why’s and why not’s.
