Why the sarcasm?

First off, we do not 'contrain a student's destiny', the student does that himself. Secondly, I said there were problems with the British system, nothing will ever work perfectly, but I do feel their system is superior to what exists in the public school system in this country today.

Personally I believe a person who uses what he is given to the fullest, be that as an intellectual or a trashman, deserves respect. I do not respect those that do not, expecting others to pick up the slack.

Second trimester.

Imparting competencies and assessing them for record should
be completely divorced. You should be able to go to the
post office and take an examination to obtain certification
that you are at level n of subject matter X. Yale students
should have to go to Harvard to sit for their quals. Students
that are making the prescribed progress per postal exams
should not be required to attend school at all.
