AVXL's strong relationship with rare disease advocacy groups is definitely an underappreciated part of the story.

Missling thinks like an engineer working to translate theory to practical application and utility.

Science and engineering are closely related disciplines and in Missling's case fortunately also the business of it all.

In my experience these domains are often siloed and especially in large organisations - leading easily to a total fail or a mediocre result, but lots of career pursuits with a black belt in corporate politics.

To achieve novel results with utility, science and engineering must go hand in hand and very often driven by passionate individuals spanning all 3 domains with a goal in mind.

The plan to go it alone with focus on Rett for approval first is a carefully planned approach, not a sudden switch tactics.

PS! Leaving corporate senior life a few years ago and returning to start-up entrepreneur spirit with freedom to innovate was such a good decision.

If Missling manages to make Anavex into an integrated bio pharmaceutical over the next few years, I hope he finds a way to avoid the silos and stay innovative and agile.

Pretty much sums up one of the main reasons why my position in Anavex is largest position of any stock I have ever owned. While we are all here to make $$$,if we weren't we would just give the money to variuos charity's, its good to know Anavex and its Management truly does care about the patients it trying to treat, they are not just pushing drugs out the door that dont really work just to book profits.

Good post TTT.
