Umibe, thanks for your thoughts on the research article. I actually posted it in reply to you by mistake after reading your post, which reminded me of the research. I generally don’t get too deep into the weeds, but agree that a better understanding of the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition may be a key to improving outcomes for Glioblastoma patients, particularly when treated with DCVax as it seems to be effective in these patients who otherwise have poor prognosis. It’s clear from the survival tail and comments from Linda Liau and Keyoumars Ashkan that DCVax works better for some patients than others, but I will leave it up to the neuro-oncologists to determine exactly why. The fact that they advocate for making the treatment available to everyone, and continue treating all of their patients with DCVax speaks volumes in my opinion. And yes, from a business and patient perspective, it seems wise to target the widest available market while clinicians attempt to improve outcomes for the patients who are less responsive.
