Apparently you don’t know the whole story. They did take steps to create the squeeze.
There is much more going on here than you’re aware of. I posted a bit earlier, definitely you’ll want to know because it’s a very interesting story. Also, they will be moving to an online strategy.
The issue that is correct is that Robinhood basically appears to have had a liquidity issue, but they do not want to use those words, but also Citadel owns a big piece of Robinhood, bailed out the hedge fund most in trouble from this squeeze and also was likely having challenges from the squeeze. Suspicions are that Citadel put pressure on them to shut the trades down, but it seems they had liquidity issues primarily, though hard to know if citadel played a part.
