They filed a lawsuit to block proxy voting, alleging it is unconstitutional. Democrats maintain that the challenge lacks merit because the Constitution gives the House the power to write its own rules.
In a joint statement Wednesday night, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, House Administration ranking member Rodney Davis and Rules Committee ranking member Tom Cole said, “Chairperson Lofgren’s letter would pave the way for an expansion of the current proxy voting scheme into a fully remote ‘vote by text’ operation that is unproven, unsecure, and unconstitutional.
Hard for me to believe in this day and age a secure voting system cant be done over the net and save millions every year
As to the "old" stuff There is a great deal of wisdom that comes with age, and experience. I hardly think that many of the people you speak of, actually need the money. Perhaps they crave power? Yes perhaps. Perhaps they want to remain useful to society? Perhaps they'd go out of their mind with boredom? It's a fact that a young man's strength is physical (not meaning to disparage young women here, their strength is in producing all of us) Men don't own wisdom, they share that aging trait with women.
Look to the boardrooms of America. There's good reason why "old people" sit on them.
So, a meeting of the minds here in part, tepid as it may be. =)
