I've never really liked either party because they're too in bed with each other and would desire a 3rd party structure or something new.
As I've consistently written about people that become serial politicians is how their involvement and thought flow process for assignment decisions quickly evolves into self interest centric permanence. That would be in order, thought 1- re-election, thought 2- how my decisions effects my re-election, thought 3- can I profit (pac) from my decisions, 4- how long can I and senators hide my bad decisions from citizens until my re-election, many other self interest angles after 4 and well down the line, and using chicken bones, will my decisions benefit citizens?

This process starts roughly a month after taking office.
