This is literally a lie.

generic medicine works in the same way and provides the same clinical benefit as its brand-name version.

It's true in some cases and false in other cases, which makes the sentence a lie.

But the FDA have decided that lying to people is a just social justice cause... as long as that gets more people taking generics.
