TTE
Generic’s API supplier stated in their q3 cc that they would be able to supply 100 tons of API shortly and max out around 300 tons/yr over the next 2 years. They said they had a near monopoly on generic supply so we see a total of 50,000 scripts/week going to generics over the next 2 years. Anything over 50,000 goes to Amarin with over 1,000 ton capacity. Efficacy in COVID would cause a jump in sales that would not change generics limited ability to meet demand (50,000/wk). Generics will always be able to sell whatever volume they can produce due to automatic substitution policies in many states. It’s all about API.

TTE, The dosing regime would stop the generic from being substituted for Vascepa. The study front loaded the dosage at 8g per day. It is my understanding that the absence of the correct dosing instructions prevents substitution.
Correct me if I am wrong.
