I agree but my point mainly is that we need to be cautious regarding what we are comparing because details matter.
If each state gets back only what it pays, then the Union becomes unnecessary and unfeasible.
What the heck, after the dust clears, NM can make money transferring all the fine folk from the south of us - with their drugs, of course, if they have any - to our borders.
And if Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas don't like it, they can just build a wall themselves with all the money they aren't sending to Washington, cuz we won't have enough money for a stupid wall.
