re: "people [vote] based on very little, or in some cases,
no knowledge [of] the candidates or the political process"

Rather than say:

"these people [are] ignorant no matter which way they voted"

I'll suggest that Fred's objective is to say a problem does exist,
so lets identify it and work to correct it.

So rather than state they are "what-ever," maybe say:

"In an incorrect situation, people will act incorrectly."

Nothing really negative about this last statement.

For example, I developed such a desire for water that I drank from a well
that had a corpse in it.

When one wants to act, and the possibilities are both limited and all unnatural,
then one either does a cop-out or lessor-of-evils.

As Fred noted, alone with lots of others here, the media plays a large role
in making up pseudo-correctness that most of the populace is not educated enough
to battle wits with, so they "do the best they can."

For eample, with no good canidates to vote for one either does not vote and be labeled
as not supported of their freedom, or vote with a closepin on nose.

So here I'm saying that Fred views activity that he deems incorrect, and rather
than focus on the person's act, focus on correcting the environment to allow better.

Good Morning, Susie

It is my belief that most "... people in this country vote based on very little, or in some cases, no knowledge (or complete "ignorance") of the candidates or the political process"

Please see my note to BnB about the recent senatorial race in New Jersey (#msg-16045645) for a particularly odious example.

I don't consider those who voted "ignorant", I consider them disenfranchised.

I really appreciate Doug's insightful response to your message. He's right when he says, "... Fred views activity that he deems incorrect, and rather than focus on the person's act, focus on correcting the environment to allow better." It's a difficult task and it will take a long time.
