Vit D is first converted to 25 Vit D in the Liver..Then to 1,25 Vit D in the Kidney..The active form of VitD..!!!

The Vit D measured in the Blood and given orally to patients is Vit D3.. The precursor of 1,25 Vit D..!!!

So yes..We do NOT measure 1,25 Vit D ..!!

And Yes..The Precursor Vit D levels rise appropriately when you give appropriately high doses of Vit D..!!!
