Yes- because Vascepa's indication (and the way it was studied in the trial) can only be used as primary prevention (you don't have established cardiovascular disease) if you're a diabetic and have additional risk factors. Otherwise, you have to have been diagnosed with CVD (secondary prevention).
BCBS will honor only those 2 types of patients. I believe other insurance will eventually follow this- which is BS.
