onecard, I asked my pharmacist about the same issue you've encountered. By law in NJ the pharmacist has to replace vascepa with gv unless the script clearly states DAW in your case if your script states icosapent ethyl/vascepa, Hikma's gv is called icosapent ethyl therefore he has to fill with gv. My CVS guy was belligerent when I mentioned that the ingredients are not the same, he said "oh the brand name companies always say that"! I'm curious to hear what your doc has to say.

Onecard, do you have a private lab in your area that can do a chemical analysis and oxidation test on your V and GV samples? if you find out the cost we can all chip in to pay for it.
